DELTA – A church WordPress theme

Its been a while since I managed another theme. This one is designed with churches in mind and is the result of having helped a couple of churches online with WordPress. WordPress really is much more than a blogging tool. This theme is the next step along the WP-driven church evolution. I may even finally get round to using this on my own church site which to my shame still isn’t yet WP-driven.

I wasn’t entirely happy with the BETA theme so, here is another attempt at a WordPress theme that is more readable. I hope you won’t be too dissapointed, but I won’t be releasing this one just yet. The problem with releasing your designs for free is that they get everywhere. Which means your own site is no longer unqiue! So for now LivingOS – CHI will be staying put…

Another Theme for Churches

Just finished PSI, another WordPress theme designed with churches in mind. Well, it may interest others too, who are after a more CMS type theme.

Smaller churches don’t have enough going on to post continually, so the emphasis with this theme is more towards static pages. Even so all the latest posts still appear down the bottom somewhere!

This theme uses content from your about page as static content for the home page and the RSS Event plugin to show upcoming events.

A Reboot with my own theme

I thought it was time to reboot my own site with a home grown theme. I’m running with my BETA theme for now. Let me know if you notice any gremlins in your browser.

I have fixed a couple of problems in this theme since the first release. I have also fixed a problem in my WP installation that broke my RSS2 feed. This should be working again now!

BETA – A new WP theme

A WordPress Theme for Churches? – ALPHA

Why A Church Theme?

Word Press is not just a blogging platform. It lowers the "geek barrier" for those wanting to run web sites. Church websites are a prime example. An 'expert' turns up, designs a website and as time goes by, it becomes outdated, looks no better than that old wooden noticeboard outside the door of the church and no one comes to visit! Sounds familiar? Well I think WP is the ideal solution. Its Admin interface is far simpler than most other CMS tools I've looked at, which means Mrs Smith in the church office can keep it up to date (well almost!). And so here is my first WP Theme which is designed specifically with a Church application in mind.
